When I saw this book available for review I knew I couldn’t pass it up. I have read all of Bella Andre’s Sullivan Family books and getting to read how Mary and Jack met and fell in love? Yes, please! Kissing Under The Mistletoe was a fun story that was unexpected. I couldn’t remember if any of the books gave little tidbits about how the two met so I was completely surprised when I read it.
Mary and Jack’s story was different to me than the other books in the series. Bella does a great job with the emotional and intimate scenes in Kissing Under The Mistletoe and you always know exactly how her characters feel from their thoughts and the words they use with one another. After reading about all the Sullivan kids and reading this story, I can see Mary and Jack’s influence in each of the kids.
If you didn’t already love Mary in all the other Sullivan books then you will surely fall in love with her in Kissing Under the Mistletoe. She is one of a kind. She is the mother I want to be. She is a person I would like to be like. Yes, I know she is fictional but she teaches some good lessons to us mom’s out there. Jack isn’t the type of husband I first expected Mary to have had, but after reading this story and seeing how they work together I totally get it. I was a little nervous how far Bella was going to go in Mary and Jack’s story and was glad she ended the reminiscing when she did. It made the happy ever after work so well.
The pace of Kissing Under The Mistletoe was a little slower and I think some parts could have been cut out to speed things up a bit, however, it was an enjoyable to read. If you are looking for a heartwarming story around Christmas that lets you relax and just enjoy a boy meets girl story with ups and downs and passionate love, I highly recommend Kissing Under the Mistletoe by Bella Andre.

For Mary Sullivan Christmas is, and always has been, about family. And this year is no different. As she awaits the arrival of her eight children and their partners at the cottage in Lake Tahoe, she hangs the ornaments that they made for her over the years. Each decoration brings with it a tide of memories, all of which she holds dear to her heart. But when she comes across the oldest ornament, the one her beloved husband, Jack, gave her on their very first Christmas together, Mary is immediately swept back to the first days of their whirlwind romance, to the love that would be the foundation on which they built the family she is so proud to call her own.
