Katy Regnery tells the story of Violet and Zach. Violet and Zach started out as close friends while at Yale, feelings blossomed and the two fall for each other. The problem is that Violet expresses her feelings while Zach is confused by them. Unfortunately, their initial story does not end well and the two go their separate ways.
We pick up Violet and Zach’s story 9 years later. The two unexpectedly end up at the same vacation house. They had both changed so much in that time frame. A similarity is that they had both been struggling with their careers, him in music and her in writing. They were getting away to find the solice needed to get their work done. Instead what they found was forgotten love and perhaps what they really needed was to find their muse again.
Their is a lot of tension, sexual chemistry, and pain throughout the book. While I loved watching Violet bloom back to her old self while she was with Zach, I was often too frustrated with her. She just took too long to come to grips with her feelings for Zach and it just annoyed me. Zach was refreshing. I really enjoyed him as the hero in this story and found him fully embracing his opportunity at another chance to have the only woman he ever loved. His sister Cora also was a refreshing character that showed up throughout the book. She injected humor into the story and I was happy to see that she will be getting her story told in the next book.
If you are a fan of stories about second chances at love, then you should enjoy Playing for Love at Deep Haven. Even though this is book one in The Enchanted Places Series, it easily reads as a stand alone book which does not have a cliffhanger and gives the reader a HEA.

About the Author:
Katy Regnery, winner of the 2013 NECRWA First Kiss and 2013 Maine RWA Everything But the Kitchen Sink contests, has always loved telling a good story and credits her mother with making funny, heartwarming tales come alive throughout her childhood. A lifelong devotee of all romance writing from Edwardian to present-day, it was just a matter of time before Katy tried her hand at writing a love story of her own.
As it turned out, one love story turned into a series of five Heart of Montana romances, following the love lives of the Yellowstone-based Lindstrom siblings. In addition to small-town contemporary romance, Katy is presently writing a paranormal romance that takes place in northern New England and the forests north of Quebec.
Speaking of forests, Katy lives in the relative-wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut where her writing room looks out at the woods and her husband, two young children and two dogs create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories of all are the messy and unexpected ones.
