Happy Friday! Today the reviewer spotlight is on Mary! She is our mystery/suspense expert on the blog.

How would you describe yourself to someone?
Quiet but interested in getting to know others and what makes them tick. I tend to be more of an observer than a participant in things. I am not much of a risk taker and like to know where I am going and what I am doing.
What are your favorite genres or sub-genres to read?
I love romance but with a mystery built in. My favorite past time when reading is trying to figure out “who did it” before I get to the end of the book.
Who are some of your favorite authors to read?
Is there an author you discovered in 2013 that you want to tell everyone about?
I have read so many books from a variety of authors so it is hard to really single any one out. I enjoy pieces of each author’s style and characters. As long as the book keeps moving and keeps me in suspense, I am happy.
Do you have a favorite book of 2013?
I love Nora Roberts’ new Dark Witch which is part of her new Cousins O’Dwyer Trilogy. Anything set in Ireland always fascinates me and Nora weaves a tale that makes you believe in ghosts and black magic!
What book surprised you most in 2013?
Any of Debbie Macomber’s books entertain and delight me because she has such a sweet way of telling her love stories. I guess I am always amazed that she can blend the sex with the romance and make it work without becoming to explicit or detracting from the story line but rather blending into it.
If you could meet any author tomorrow for lunch who would it be and why?
I guess Nora Roberts because she has written so many different kinds of books. Her J.D. Robb series is very different from what she writes under her own name. I don’t typically like the paranormal but I enjoy hers. I would like to ask her what inspires her to write so many different kinds of books . Where does she get her ideas and after so many years and books what keeps her writing.
Anything else you want to talk about?
I love to read and love the variety of ways to do it. However, I still enjoy holding a real book in my hands with the satisfaction of turning the pages right to the end. If I want to go back to a page I can do so easily but I also love the convenience of the e readers as they make taking a book along anywhere I go so easy!

Thank you, Mary, for joining us at So Many Reads and for reading the thrillers that scare the crap out of me to read! I am glad you are able to bring another genre to the blog!
