Review: HIS UNTAMED DESIRE by Katie Reus

It is always nice to come back home to Katie Reus’s Moon Shifter Series. His Untamed Desire is a novella in the series and sets up the next full length novel, Avenger’s Heat nicely. The entire series is phenomenal, so I suggest you start at the beginning, but you could read His Untamed Desire as a standalone if you wanted to since the characters are new. I do think that reading the series from the beginning gives the reader more understanding and makes the book more meaningful.

untameddesire_100dpiIn His Untamed Desire we get to know feline shifter Hector and lupine shifter Daphne. They grew up with one another since Daphne is best friends with and Hector’s younger sister, Leta. Daphne has always had a crush on Hector, but he did not reciprocate. Well, time has passed, they have both grown up and are meeting again since Daphne went away to college.

The character development in His Untamed Desire is really good. You feel like you really know the characters personally, even though it is only a novella, which can sometimes be hard. Katie portrays their thoughts, attitudes and emotions so very well. That keeps the story moving along at a great pace.

Because of Katie’s long experience in writing romantic suspense, her stories are always uniquely romantic and suspenseful. If you are looking for a romantic, engaging paranormal romance, I recommend His Untamed Desire.

Book Summary:

Lupine shifter Daphne’s recent move back home gives her a chance at the fierce and sexy male she’s always wanted: jaguar shifter Hector.  Daphne plans to show him she’s all grown up, and more than enough woman for him. Unfortunately, a certain vampire has been harassing her and won’t take no for an answer.

Hector knows Daphne can take care of herself, but he immediately steps in to protect her. He’s lusted after the sweet and sensual woman for years. With circumstances forcing them to share a roof, Hector’s not hiding his attraction toward her any longer.

But Daphne’s not the only shifter with vampire problems: tensions between the two groups are rising all over New Orleans. Pregnant shifters are being kidnapped and Hector’s sister could be the next victim. When Daphne underestimates her stalker’s persistence, it might be too late for Hector to keep both of the women he loves safe.
