In Stealing the Groom by Sonya Weiss, Amelia Snyder’s impulsive plan is to steal her best friend and groom-to-be Chad Walker and save him from marrying the wrong woman. But Amelia’ s plan backfires and she ends up being Chad’s bride. The funny disasters and escapades along the way kept me turning the page.
Chad, the no nonsense planner, and Amelia, the free spirit, prove that opposites attract as their relationship heats up. In the middle of the book you find two schemers who had planned all along to get Amelia and Chad together. And the reasons behind their crazy plans tug at your heartstrings. Even after they both are determined not to fall in love with each other, and making decisions to mess up their relationship they find out in the end that being best friends was a perfect step to happily ever after.
I liked how the main characters have such opposite personalities, and the complex emotional reasons behind they way they chose to live their lives. The book introduces Amelia’s two sisters and her grandfather along with Chad’s grandfather. They bring a great sense of family throughout the book. The romance between Amelia and Chad is realistic and believable. Even though they are attracted to each other they are determined not to screw up their platonic friendship. They make mistakes and end up being vulnerable and real with each other and risk their hearts.

Friends don’t let friends marry the wrong woman…
Chad Walker may be a take-no-chances man with a plan, but there’s no way Amelia Snyder is going to let her best bud marry Mean Girl #1—even if the wedding is solely so he can secure the controlling shares in his family’s company. But free-spirited Amelia’s at-the-altar groomnapping scheme takes a surprising turn when she ends up as the blushing bride instead.
Suddenly, with Amelia living in her handsome husband’s home—in his bedroom, no less—she starts to reconsider their strictly platonic arrangement. But Chad’s always been strictly anti-risk and definitely anti-love, and betting a lifetime of best friendship on the chance at forever might be the biggest gamble of all.
