Barbara Vey’s Reader Appreciation Luncheon 2014 Wrap-Up

About a month ago, I attended the Barbara Vey’s Reader Luncheon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I took my mother with me to our first reader convention and boy did we have fun even if I was a little out of my league with all these fabulous authors around me.

My lovely mother and I at the signing.

The Author Q&A was Friday night and what a blast that was. Despite the cozy standing room only, the authors were relaxed and really showed us their personalities. What a great way to meet new authors. After the Q&A with the authors, there was a reception so authors and readers could mingle with one another. This is where I got to hook up with my street team authors (Kelsey Browning, Tracy March, Adrienne Giordano, Nancy Naigle and Tracey Devlyn), other street team members and just chat about anything and everything. I wish we had more time that night, but I am thankful for the time I did get to spend with them.

Next up was the luncheon itself on Saturday. Before lunch started, we had another chance to mingle with the authors. I took advantage of this time and snapped several pictures. Probably my favorite time of all! The luncheon included a very yummy meal (of course) along with great door prizes (again, getting to see the authors’ personalities in their door prizes) as well as listen to the fabulous and humble Debbie Macomber.

Following the lunch, we then had the opportunity to attend the author book signing. I walked out of there with an armful of books – some signed to giveaway and some to read for the first time. I got to meet the lovely Edie Ramer at the signing!

I walked out of the event with a LOT of loot. From books to swag to candy. Check out the photo below. Look for some giveaways on the blog from this pile!

If you ever get the opportunity to attend the Barbara Vey Reader Luncheon, I highly recommend you go! It was a very well organized event – things moved along and readers are treated like royalty. Now I am off to look for the next convention I can attend…

Hi, Delene! I think reader conventions can become an addiction, don’t you? NOLA would have been so awesome. I am glad you had a great time!
