We are celebrating today because Operation Sheba by Misty Evans is being re-released into the world with additional content and a brand spanking new cover. I am so excited today because I had the pleasure of interviewing Conrad and Julia, the main characters in one of my all-time favorite books.
If you like romantic suspense or are considering reading it for the first time, this would be an excellent book for you to try. My original review of Operation Sheba can be found here. Misty is running a Break The Spy Code contest on her website – see details below on how to play!

Julia Torrison—codename Sheba—is keeping secrets.
Seventeen months ago she was one of the CIA’s super agents, facing down dangerous terrorists with her partner and lover Conrad Flynn. After a mission was blown and Conrad died, Julia was yanked back to Langley and given a new identity. She is now the Counterterrorism Center’s top analyst, spending her days at CIA headquarters and her nights in her boss’s bed. Her former life as a secret agent has been sealed off with her heart.
Former SEAL Conrad Flynn—codename Solomon—has his own secrets.
For starters, he’s not dead. Going under the deepest cover possible, he faked his own death to save Sheba’s life. Now he must tear that new life apart and ask for her help to hunt down a traitor inside the Agency’s walls.
Is Conrad a rogue operative or a jealous ex-lover looking for revenge?
Julia must risk everything for the man who still holds her heart in order to decide. Drawn into a web of seduction and betrayal, she is forced to play the spy game of her life, flushing out an Agency mole and stopping a hostage situation using nothing more than her iPod and her intuition.

Interview with Conrad and Julia:
Amy: Welcome to the blog, Conrad and Julia! I have been waiting for this day for a long time. So glad you had some spare time to stop by.
Con: I’ve been looking forward to visiting with you in person, Amy. We have things to discuss…like when are you joining my secret army?
Julia: Stop it. She’s not a spy.
Con: She’s my # 1 fan and Misty says she has mad skills with social media. I always have a spot in my Super Agent army for a sexy woman who knows her way around a computer.
Amy <After being stunned into silence after that comment, I find my words again>: To start, Julia, would you introduce Conrad?
Julia: The Great Conrad Flynn, as I call him, is one of a kind. Seductive, charming, and wicked good at his job as head of the CIA’s operatives.
Amy: Conrad, would you please introduce Julia?
Con: Julia Torrison is the only woman I never broke during Isolation and Interrogation at The Farm. She’s also the only woman I’ve ever loved.
Julia: Aww, that’s so sweet. I beat you at your own game and you fell in love with me.
Amy: What made you decide to be spies?
Julia: I dreamed of working for the CIA, but not as a spy. It wasn’t until I met Conrad that I considered field work. I have a head for analyzing information, and I’m one tough bitch, as Conrad can attest to, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to be a field operative until I had to survive The Farm. From the first day I saw Conrad, he was so mysterious, so intense, I knew I’d never be happy doing anything that didn’t involve him.
Con: I was a SEAL when Susan Richardson recruited me. I love my country and I’m an adrenaline junkie, so going from undercover ops as a SEAL to undercover ops as a spy was as natural to me as brushing my teeth.
Amy: What do you love most about working for the CIA?
Julia: The people. I’ve never met more dedicated and loyal people.
Con: The foreign settings, the gadgets, the secret identities, the women…
Julia: You mean, the womAn, right? There’s only one woman for you.
Con: Absolutely. <winks at Amy and whispers: She’s so easy to get a rise out of.>
Amy: Conrad, tell me about your SEAL days. What made you want to be a SEAL and why did you leave?
Con: My dream of being a major league pitcher for the Yankees ended at the tender age of 9. I was devastated, but our neighbor was this cool guy who knew how to do all kinds of things – camping, swimming, sky diving. Had all the moves with the ladies, and he could throw a mean fastball. I found out he was a former SEAL and from that point on, I wanted to be a SEAL too.
Amy: If you had to pick one song that describes you, what would it be?
Julia: Only one? How could I pick only one song to describe me?
Con: One song could never capture everything you are to me, Jules, so I agree. It would be impossible to pick just one song that describes you. But for me? That’s easy – Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood.
Julia: Yep, that pretty much fits you to a tee!
Amy: How about a song that describes your relationship?
Julia: You and Me by Dave Matthews Band
Con: The Space Between by Dave Matthews Band
Julia: Wow, we actually agree on something…at least the songs are by the same band.
Amy: Julia, can you share something romantic that Conrad does for you that would surprise us readers?
Julia: He regularly checks my car, phone, and bras for bugs – as in listening devices, not insects.
Con: You can never be too safe.
Julia: It might sound weird to other people, but I know it’s his way of watching out for me.
Amy <I wouldn’t mind him checking out my bra for bugs…>: What is your favorite gift that you have received from one another?
Julia: Conrad pretended to be dead for 17 months in order to flush out a mole inside Langley and save my life. I’d say that’s the ultimate gift.
Con: Forgiveness. Julia took me back even after I deceived her and broke her heart.
Amy: What is your former wheel-man Ace up to these days? He always made me smile.
Con: He’s doing his usual…embalming bodies and irritating me.
Julia: You love Ace and you know it.
Con: He comes in handy at times. The kid has connections. He’s actually letting Josh Devons, an operative of mine, live in his apartment above the funeral parlor for now, so I guess I should cut him some slack.
Amy: Conrad, Misty tells me I should ask you about your favorite conspiracy theory.
Julia: I am not sure we have that much time, Amy. We could be here until Christmas if you ask him that.
Amy: Hmm. Okay. Conrad, tell us about your love of conspiracy theories in three sentences or less.
Con: There’s a kernel of truth in every conspiracy theory, and sometimes that kernel is pretty damned big.
Amy: What’s next for you guys? Planning on starting a family anytime soon?
Julia <laughing>: I’m enjoying my job and having Conrad back in my life. Marriage is enough for me right now.
Con <rolling his eyes>: She’s just afraid I’ll start recruiting our kids to do spy work before they’re out of diapers.
Julia: I wouldn’t put it past you.
Con: I wouldn’t either.
Amy: Thank you both for joining me today! Don’t you love them? They are this great in their Operation Sheba, too!
