Review: SAVING THE CEO by Jenny Holiday

In Saving the CEO by Jenny Holiday, Jack Winter has a ton of rules.  He never ever dates an employee.  He always eats at Edwards’s on the same night. A crisis at work sends Jack to his favorite restaurant on a different night, forcing him to sit at the bar instead of his usual table.  Bartender Cassie James is more than happy to serve Jack because she knows just how good of a tipper he is. What she doesn’t count on is how much she enjoys talking to the often distant patron. When Jack learns Cassie is a math student, he hires her to help him out on a secret real estate deal and a project.  There’s just one problem: Jack and Cassie can’t seem to keep their hands to themselves and a whole lot of rule breaking is happening.

This was a delightful read for me. There are so many billionaire/millionaire books floating around in contemporary romance that sometimes it leads to boring and predictable reads.  Not with Holiday’s book. She does an excellent job of keeping her story fresh. Yes, Jack is rich and a self made man but that doesn’t mean he has to go into crazy stalker mode or try to change Cassie’s life to mirror his own.

Cassie is such a hoot to read about.  Her first encounter with Jack at the bar was absolutely priceless. Cassie early on let’s Jack know she is not intimidated by his title or success.  She also gets to spend a good chunk of time showing off her geeky side as a math major. The chemistry between Jack and Cassie is immediate and hot. During several of the love scenes I was surprised my Kindle didn’t melt or burst into flames.

Overall this was a great and enjoyable read for me. Readers who enjoy billionaire romances and even those wbo have grown bored with that topic will enjoy this book. I know I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

Luckily for Jack, Cassie James isn’t really his employee. She’s a hot bartender who just happens to be the math genius he needs, and if they share a wicked chemistry?
