Dec the Holls by Jasinda Wilder is the first book I have read by this author. I am a bit behind, right? This book was free from the author (thank you so much!) and was a Christmas novella so I had to give it a try. Holy smokes! I will definitely be reading more by this author in the future. In fact, I have a couple on my TBR list that I need to move up in priority! It was great and gave me a feel for the author’s writing.
In this short little bundle of fun, Declan, Holly’s boss, rescues her from a dead car and things start from there. As a single mom of two struggling to make ends meet, the whole rich boss swooping in to rescue Holly seemed like it would be a little cliche. It was not. Declan was not what I thought he would be and Holly was exactly like I thought she would be, which made it awesome.
Jasinda Wilder is able to provide us with a realistic and fun plot even in such a short story. The characters were well developed for a novella and you found yourself cheering for both of them. You wanted the two of them to get together and find some happiness in their lives.
The ending scene was phenomenal. The author does a fantastic job writing the intimacy between Declan and Holly in a way that shares real emotions and such passion. You hang on each word as you read it and then want to turn it into real life magic. If you are looking for a short, sexy little story to read that is full of hope and extraordinary romance, give Dec the Holls a try.
