Review: LITTLE BLACK BOOK by Tabatha Vargo and Melissa Andrea

Do you ever have a book that calls your name? Like you hear about it, put it on your mental TBR and then move on? Then it continues to come to the forefront of your mind when you are thinking about new books to read? Well, Little Black Book by Tabatha Vargo and Melissa Andrea did just that. I met the authors at Penned Con 2014 in St. Louis and the book was intriguing, picked up some swag to remember it and went on my way. I finally downloaded it from Amazon on New Year’s Eve and was finished reading it on New Year’s Day 2015. And holy crap. I see why it was calling my name.

Sebastian Black is a man fully in control of his life. He doesn’t do emotions. He just does pleasure and kicks ass along the way professionally. Rosslyn is desperate. He life is crashing down on her. When Sebastian offers her a way out, things get interesting. I am an emotional, romantic girl and wasn’t so sure I would like Mr. Black and his proposal when I first started reading. I also didn’t want Rosslyn to give herself up for money. At first, I just wasn’t sure how it would work in a way that I would be okay with it. That is the beauty of this book, though – the authors did a fantastic job. The characters and the story are so well done that the “indecent proposal” was acceptable. I found myself hanging on every last word and constantly flipping pages.

Rosslyn was a rock star in my book. I completely identified with her personality and how she handled things with Sebastian at the beginning. She and Sebastian both grew so much in the story that it brought tears to my eyes at the end. The emotional baggage both of them harbored and finally let go of was what made the story for me.

Vargo and Andrea wrote such raw intimacy but also invoked such feelings and emotion into it. I am hesitant when I read erotic romance from new to me authors because I need to feel the romance and emotions of it. There has to be a story – not just sex. The authors delivered exactly what I was looking for in Little Black Book. This book was very hard to put down and I can’t say enough good things about it. Little Black Book is an engaging story about two people overcoming their horrific past, very mixed up present and on the road for a hopeful future. If you are looking for a hot, sexy, contemporary erotic romance, give Little Black Book a try.
