Review: MORE THAN ONE NIGHT by Nicole Leiren

Simply wonderful. That is how I would describe More than One Night by Nicole Leiren. It was a lovely contemporary romance that had my attention from beginning to end. I fell in love with the heroine, Melodie and felt I could relate to her on so many levels. When a character makes me want to be a better version of myself, I always call that a win. The heroine, Daniel, wasn’t too shabby himself, but he did do some very male things in the book.

MoreThanOneNight2Melodie and Daniel meet on a plane. It’s definitely fate that put them next to each other and they listened and went with it. Daniel more than Melodie, but she was convinced to see what was between them. I thought Leiren did a fabulous job with the storyline. It wasn’t the cookie cutter romance that was predictable. I enjoyed how the author wove not only the love story between the couples but their own personal challenges into the plot.

Daniel and Melodie experienced ups and downs in their relationship just like most of us experience in real life. Just when I thought they had it it under control and their happy ever after was in sight, something else came up and proved another hurdle they must jump through. Because of this, it was a book that was hard to put down. I wasn’t sure what to expect regarding the heat level of the book and Leiren did a great job with the intimate scenes. To match the flow of the book and the characters, Leiren allowed just enough detail and left other parts behind closed doors.

The additional characters in the story such as the family members, added a lot to the story. Some of them made me want to reach in and slap them and others just had me smiling every scene they were in. I always enjoy children in books, as they bring such an innocence and usually steal the scenes. The family members proved to be some of the biggest individual battles but also ones that brought Melodie and Daniel together to teach them how to work as a team.

If you are looking for an entertaining contemporary romance that shows that each of us deserve love, regardless of what emotional baggage we might bring, this book is for you. More Than One Night is a fresh, heart-warming contemporary romance sure to pull in from the beginning and won’t let your heart go until the very end.

The Few. The Strong. The Brave.

Melodie Alexander, a children’s librarian, prefers to live life between the pages of a book. But when the death of her best friend prompts her to step out of her comfort zone, she finds herself directly in the path of self-proclaimed bad boy, Daniel Bresland.

Daniel knew how to be a solider. Life after war? Not as easy. He served his country in Afghanistan, both in the military and as a private contractor, but fighting the war came at high personal cost. Now he’s determined to keep his relationships “casual” in order to protect his heart and prevent anyone from getting too close.

A chance encounter between Melodie and Daniel on a flight to Dallas proves that opposites really do attract. But when scars from the past threaten their new relationship almost before it starts, Daniel must decide if he can risk opening his heart again to convince Melodie he wants more than one night.
