Book Summary:

Miles is Charlotte’s one and only weakness. He’s also her only hope…

To stop a Romanian crime lord and clear her name, British Intelligence officer Charlotte Carstons has no choice. She must track down former Navy SEAL Miles Duncan and ask for his help. Miles holds the key to completing her undercover assignment and proving she’s no traitor…but he also holds a grudge. Getting him to forgive her may be the most challenging mission of her life.

Charlotte is his fantasy woman. She’s also the biggest mistake of his career…

He was supposed to hunt her down. Instead Miles ended up at the mercy of the sexy, mysterious MI6 agent who left him without so much as a goodbye after their six-week love affair in the Carpathian Mountains. Back in the States and working as an operative for Shadow Force International, Miles has been searching for Charlotte ever since—and so has everyone else. She’s a traitor to her country and she may be responsible for the deaths of his SEAL teammates a year ago.

Together, they can save the world. Or destroy each other…

When Charlotte shows up on his doorstep asking for help, Miles knows better than to get involved. She’s determined to go back to Romania with or without him, however, and he knows she’s walking into a deadly trap. Can he keep her safe as they travel across continents and explore the depth of their feelings for each other? Or will misplaced honor and treasonous loyalties prove fatal for them both?

Navy SEAL Miles Duncan finds himself at the nercy of what he believes to be an M16 operative who has turned traitor.  However, he finds himself falling for her big time as she nurses him back to health in a deserted cabin deep in the Romanian woods.  One fateful day she disappears but makes certain that she sends someone to rescue him and see that he returns to the US.  However, he is not able to overcome his survivor’s guilt since all of his SEAL team buddies were killed in the helicopter he had been in that was blown out of the sky at the hands of a terrorist.  What role did Charlotte, his rescuer, play in this act and how was he to find the woman who had made such a huge impact on his life.  All these questions are eventually answered as the story unravels and the truth is eventually revealed.
These two characters are fearless and tough.  The situations they find themselves in would break most people but their love and belief in helping those who need it seem to help them overcome impossible odds.  The story has some strong violent scenes in it so you need to be prepared to read about human nature at its worst.  However, there is also a balance achieved by those who will stop at nothing to overcome evil.  Belief in  mankind when put to the test, good overcoming evil, and the strong spirit of a dedicated team make this story worth the read.

Review by Candy

MI6 agent Charlotte Carstons had been labeled a traitor to her country. On the run from a Romanian crime lord, Charlotte needs the help of former Navy SEAL Miles Duncan to clear her name. Charlotte had found Miles on the brink of death in the forest of the Carpathian Mountains and she nursed him back to health. The two had an explosive love affair until Charlotte left with no explanation. Miles is willing to help Charlotte out but it’s going to be on his terms. Can this duo clear Charlotte’s name? Will they be able to resume their relationship?

Time for a confession. I have only read one Misty Evans book prior to this but I have a lot of her books on my TBR list. Getting a copy of this ARC was just the kick in the butt I needed to rediscover this great author.

I absolutely loved Charlotte and Miles. They were such a great and fun couple to read about. It was wonderful watching these two stubborn headed alphas fall in love. The way Miles proposed to Charlotte at the end will have every bookworm sighing with envy.

One of the things I love about Misty Evans is her plots in her romantic suspense books. Every plot is very realistic and Fatal Honor even had some current events thrown in to give it even more realism. I also enjoy how Evans gives just enough information to explain what is going on to the readers but she doesn’t overload them with too many details  (nothing disturbs a good scene like having to Google what the author is talking about).

Fatal Honor is a fun and sexy romantic suspense. Filled with two very memorable characters, it’s a fast paced book that left me wanting to read more of this series. While Fatal Honor is the second book in the Shadow Forces International series it can be read as a standalone with no problem. Any reader who enjoys a good romantic suspense or military romance should give this book a read.
