Review: HELL FOR LEATHER by Julie Ann Walker

As much as I love the BKI books, Hell For Leather by Julie Ann Walker wasn’t my favorite. It started a little slow for me with lots of inner monologue and broody attitude that wasn’t doing it for me. I like Mac and Delilah as people but Mac’s inner conflict with himself and Delilah’s pushiness with him annoyed me a bit.

I love Walker’s books, so I kept reading because I had faith. As the plot thickened I found myself more intrigued. I wanted to know what the terrorists wanted with Uncle Theo. And when the you-know-what really hit the fan I loved how Mac’s walls dropped and he allowed himself to let Delilah in to comfort and protect her. She also let her badass guard down and things clicked for the two. But then when things got better they put those masks on again. Ugh! Of course there is a happy ever after so things ended up fine in the end, but the journey was just rather difficult and painful.

The other BKI boys always make me smile and in Hell For Leather Dagan gets reunited with former CIA coworker Chelsea. They are a treat to watch. Lots of verbal sparring and lust going on with them. They will be exciting to read about in books to come.

If you are looking for a really good romantic suspense series give the BKI books a shot. Each one builds on another but you can read them individually too.
