Review by Amy:

In Take Me, Trevor is missing wife Cassandra who is away on business. It’s St. Patrick’s Day and while his friend Stephan has offered to take him out for a pint, Trevor decides to stay home. He makes a wise choice, because Cassandra has quite the surprise for him.

Take Me is sure to please anyone that wants more of Trevor and Cassandra. Be prepared, though, because your heart will race and you will be squirming in your seat while reading this short. Be careful while reading it in public!

Review & Giveaway: TO RUSSIA WITH LOVE by Chris Almeida & Cecilia Aubrey

Update – Congratulations to Kimberly for winning a copy of To Russia with Love!

What an intense and thrilling ride! If you have read Countermeasure by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey, well get ready for more in To Russia With Love.  More action. More thrills (and chills). More emotion. More romance. More twists and turns. More story. When I finished with To Russia With Love I was exhausted, but in a good way. I can’t even count the number of times tears rand down my cheeks or the number of times it felt like my heart was beating so rapidly I thought it would come right out of my chest. I love getting all twisted up with emotion when I read. This is my favorite book of the series so far.

TRWLIn To Russia With Love Trevor and Cassandra are caught up in the middle of the Russian Mafia. In their defense, they didn’t quite know how deep they were getting into things until they were already in over their heads. But, what do an NSA and ex-CIA agent do? They think on their feet, try to get the job done and survive by all means necessary. Chris and Cecilia develop the characters so well that my skin would crawl every time a couple of the characters entered the scene and I wanted to read faster to get away from them. There were other times my heart hurt for a couple of them and wanted to help them them get out of their situation. And still there were other times I found myself yelling at some of the characters who were just being ridiculous.

Review: LOST TO RAPTURE by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey

The books in the Countermeasure series keep getting better and better. We are really getting to know the characters on a deeper level which is so incredibly awesome. Lost to Rapture by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey is the 6th Countermeasure: Bytes of Life short story. It centers around the one year anniversary of Trevor and Cassandra and oh boy is it lovely. And so sweet, sensual and emotional. Trevor and Cassie are such a phenomenal love story.

17410136In Lost to Rapture, Trevor is trying to figure out the best place to take Cassie for their one year anniversary. It quickly dawns on him that taking her back to his hometown of Sligo is the perfect place. As you can imagine, emotions are high since it is the first time Trevor has been back since his parents have disappeared. How will he handle it? Well, with Cassie by his side, you know he will have great support.

Review: BLINDSIDED by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey

Blindsided by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey definitely lives up to its name. I was completely surprised by this book. It isn’t like any of the other Bytes of Life stories, and the time frame in which it is set is the same time as the end of To Russia With Love, so you get to see the ending of that book from a different point of view. It is just so very cool the way Chris and Cecilia wrote this one.

BSBlindsided shows us Nathan and Nikol’s last encounter from To Russia With Love. Holy smokes was it an eye opener. I learned so much about Nathan and Nikol from this short story that my opinion of both of them has changed considerably. I don’t want to give anything else away or the effect of the book will be ruined, but let’s just say, if you read To Russia With Love, you HAVE to read Blindsided. The next full length novel (which I believe is Alternate Connection) in the Countermeasure series is not out yet, but I think Blindsided sets us up for that one. I highly recommend you read Blindsided even if you don’t read any of the other Bytes of Life short stories (but I hope you read them all).

Review: COUNTERMEASURE (including UNCHARTED) by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey

This book has been on my radar for a long time but I never acted on it until recently. Now I am kicking myself because I now realize what I was missing and I have to play catch-up on the series. A real hardship to read one book after another, right? Ha. If you like romantic suspense stories that can get your heart pumping during action scenes but also racing during the passionate love scenes, this book is for you. Countermeasure by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey is different than the drug lord, military type romantic suspense books I have read. It has more intrigue in it and I really like the balance of romance and suspense.

CountermeasureCountermeasure was a little slow in the beginning to me while it set the stage for the characters of Trevor Bauer and Cassandra James. However, after finishing the book I understand why that background was needed. Trevor and Cassandra live on opposite sides of the country and I couldn’t figure out how they were going to meet one another. The background provided early in the story made it all worthwhile. When Trevor and Cassandra do meet for the first time, the book takes off at a fast pace and does not leave you with a lot of time to get to know the characters’ backgrounds and explain why they react certain ways to things.
