The Mutt and the Matchmaker by JB Lynn is a must read for any of her Confessions of a Neurotic Hitwoman fans. The awesome Armani from the Hitwoman series is the Matchmaker in this series and as you can imagine, comes with a lot of humor. If you have not read the Hitwoman series, no worries, as it is not required to read The Mutt and the Matchmaker.
In The Mutt and the Matchmaker, we meet Tom and Jane, the first couple that Armani sets up. When I started reading, I thought it was too nice of story and the mystery was easily solved. However, I love JB’s books, so I kept reading. I was glad I did because things did turn out the way I thought. JB takes us on quite a little mystery!
The Hitwoman Hunts a Ghost is the sixth book in the Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman Series by JB Lynn and I look forward to each one. The combination of snarky humor, talking pets, family theatrics, a hitwoman, a sexy cop, and just plain craziness make this series a must read. Especially when you are feeling down. It will put a smile on your face and give you several laughs.
In The Hitwoman Hunts a Ghost, Maggie finds herself in several situations she did not ask for. We all know she is going to get through them, but the path she takes to get there and the other mysteries she uncovers along the way are what make the book so fun. We don’t quite know how she is going to pull it off and most of the time she doesn’t either. Maggie’s life has not gotten any easier since the first book, the circumstances just change.
I have a love/hate relationship with the Hitwoman series. I love the situations Maggie finds herself in, the animals, the humor and the craziness, but I hate that each one ends and I have to wait for the next adventure. I know JB Lynn wouldn’t want me to recommend this but it’s almost better if you wait until ALL of them come out and read them all at once. The problem is, I don’t know how many are planned so you could be waiting years and that just isn’t a good idea.
In The Hitwoman and the Neurotic Witness, Maggie, the heroine of the story and the hitwoman is told by her mob boss to investigate to find out who bombed her apartment building. She doesn’t really want to do this because she has enough craziness in her life and she would really like a break from crazy, but you don’t say no to a mob boss. Patrick, her murder mentor who is also a police detective warns her to stay out of this and not to investigate. Now what? Who does she listen to?
Update – Congratulations to Silver for winning JB Lynn’s giveaway! Thank you to all who participated!
