Innocent Target by Katie Reus is a wonderful romantic suspense story that pulls you in from the beginning and holds your attention until the very end. I really enjoyed watching the romance between Axel and Hadley because it was so different than expected. I haven’t read the other books in the Redemption Harbor series yet, but I sure want to after meeting the other characters in the story.

Axel was a mystery to me and I loved learning about him with each page. I was really trying to figure out how he would end up the hero. Reus did not disappoint and really made it happen. Hadley was sweet and innocent yet wants to be seen as a strong, independent person. She and Axel were an unlikely couple, and I enjoyed the differences between Axel and Hadley. The romance stole the show for me in Innocent Target just because the characters were so interesting to me. Reus does a fantastic job with her stories and she is a must read for any romantic suspense fan!

Review: MISTLETOE ME, BABY by Katie Reus

Mistletoe Me, Baby by Katie Reus reminds me of a Hallmark Channel Christmas Movie with an added MA rating for the insanely hot love scenes. It has the adorable characters that are just so good down to their core with a tragedy that causes challenges in their budding romance. It leaves you with so much hope and joy in the end – all the aspects of a great story.

Miranda and Nolan are the best of friends, but they both secretly want to be more than just friends. An opportunity presents itself to Nolan and he takes advantage of it by sweeping Miranda off her feet. They have great chemistry doing daily mundane activities, but they are dynamite when the bedroom door closes.

Reus writes a passionate and heartfelt romance between these two friends to lovers in a novella format. It’s quick, but builds up nicely, and keeps the reader interested and flipping pages. If you like hot, sexy, Christmas stories that will entertain you from beginning to end and bring out many emotions while reading, give Mistletoe Me, Baby a read.

Review: SAVED BY DARKNESS by Katie Reus

It’s been awhile since I have ventured into the paranormal world, and while I don’t do it often, I only do it with a select few authors. Katie Reus is one of those authors. In her newest release, Saved by Darkness we are pulled into a paranormal world filled with dragon shifters, demons and so much more. We also enter a hell realm. Creepy! The world building is amazing and the characters are even better.

The main characters in the story are Ian and Fiona and they are lost lovers. They first met over 50 years ago and are pulled apart by her family. Present day they are back together to stand up against an enormous obstacle pulling in several others willing to fight along side them. In addition to fighting for their lives, their love grows stronger and just when we think they will be together, something comes in between them yet again.  Ugh!

Reus does an amazing job with Saved by Darkness. She writes an imaginative story with characters that are endearing to the reader. I enjoy the relationship part of stories sometimes more than overall plot itself and this one has it everywhere from family to lovers to friends and packmates. The action scenes are great but the emotionally charged scenes get my heart racing just as much. Oh and the love scenes are so sweet and sensual yet intense.

Saved by Darkness is a fantastically written paranormal romance full of magic, romance, action and adventure. If you are looking for a break from reality, pick this one up!

Review: LETHAL GAME by Katie Reus

Lethal Game by Katie Reus is every romantic suspense lover’s dream. Hold on while reading this one because it is action packed, filled with suspense, drama, intrigue as well as passionate, sexy romance. Reus does a great job of weaving an original plot throughout the book while balancing not one, but two romances.

Graysen is ex-CIA who has come to his friend and founder of Red Stone Security with a government contract and a job request. See, Graysen wants to win back the heart of Isa who also works for Red Stone, but she really doesn’t want anything to do with him. Being forced to work on a job together will require Isa to spend time with Graysen. I can’t say I fell in love with either of these characters at the beginning, however, as the story continued, I was treated to more layers of their personality and really really wanted things to work out for them.

The added romance between Carlito, a police detective and Emerson, a Red Stone employee was a bonus. They were loosely tied to the overall plot connected with Emerson and Isa and while I enjoyed watching their love story unfold, I would have preferred more of Graysen and Isa. I haven’t read the last few Red Stone books so it could be that the fans wanted an Emerson story and this was the best way to include that in the final book in the series. Regardless, their story was truly engaging and heart warming.

As with all of Reus’ stories, we are treated to great writing, a unique plot with descriptive action scenes, and intimate scenes that make you squirm. The best thing about a series is that many of characters from previous books make an appearance. From the owners of Red Stone Security to their wives and even discussions about other characters made for a great ending.  If you like romantic suspense, definitely give Lethal Game a try.

Review: A COVERT AFFAIR by Katie Reus

Love, love, love! The Deadly Ops Series by Katie Reus is one of the best romantic suspense series I have read. Each book in the Deadly Ops series is unique with a creative, original plot but the same fantastic writing and some of the same characters from previous books. Phenomenal. A Covert Affair is a captivating, heated, romantic suspense that will pull you in from the beginning and won’t let you go until the very last page.

ACovertAffair_100DPI2Nathan and Amelia are the main characters of the story and after spending many years apart are thrust back together to uncover a mystery of missing women. When you read many books and there are second chance love stories, you tend to subconsciously guess on how the relationship will go. Yes, they usually get together in the end (it would suck if they didn’t) but the path to that forever love is the adventure. Reus does a remarkable job with this one.

Nathan works for the NSA and isn’t able to tell Amelia about his job or the details of the case she is helping them with. He stays true to this role and while it does cause problems at times this makes their story a little more realistic. The intimacy between Nathan and Amelia is off the charts. You can feel the chemistry between the two and their emotions come right off the pages.
